The VAWC Act is significant because it: Criminalizes various acts of violence against women and children, Establishes a comprehensive legal framework, Provides support services for victims.

This law prohibits sexual harassment in the workplace, educational institutions, and other settings. It defines sexual harassment as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. This law acknowledges that sexual harassment is not just a personal issue but a violation of women's rights and dignity. It outlines procedures for filing complaints, conducting investigations, and imposing sanctions on perpetrators. This law aims to create a workplace and educational environment free from sexual harassment, where women can thrive and reach their full potential.

The Safe Spaces Act aims to prevent and address all forms of gender-based violence in public spaces. It defines gender-based violence as any act that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, psychological, or economic harm to a person based on their gender. It recognizes that violence against women can occur in various settings, not just within the home or intimate relationships. The law encourages the creation of safe spaces for women and girls, where they feel protected from harassment and violence. It provides mechanisms for reporting incidents of gender-based violence and seeking redress.
